Exploring Fungal-Nematode Interactions in Disease Complexes

No pathogen exists in a vaccuum. Some research suggests that nematodes and fungi interact synergistically to make plant diseases worse, and cause more significant yield losses.

Investigating the Chestnut Microbiome for Causes of Graft Failure

Chestnut ( _Castanea_ spp. ) trees harbor a tremendous number of fungal and bacterail endophytes. They are also extremely difficult to clonally propagate via grafting. Using an amplicon-sequencing based microbiome approach, we are looking for biological explanaitions to such high rates of graft failure.
